Civil Project Engineer – Structures & Geotechnical – Auckland
This a new position for an experienced project engineer with experience in the field of civil structures and ground stabilisation. This specialist company works throughout the North and South Island on a variety of civil and infrastructure projects. They are building their New Zealand team and are looking for a project engineer to join them in the New Year.
Focusing on civil and infrastructure projects this company specialises in delivering solutions around the construction of bridges, underpass, dams, retaining walls, coastal structures and other concrete based structures. They work closely with the country’s major contractors, through the tender process and to completion on site. As project engineer you will be involved with that process from start to finish and be working on multiple projects at any one time.
Ideally you will have 3 to 6 years industry experience primarily focused on civil structures or ground stabilisation. Your experience will be with a civil contractor and you will be comfortable working in a site based environment. A good understanding of the construction process is essential as is the ability to build strong relationships with clients within the industry. Other desirable qualities include,
- A recognised civil qualification such as degree, HND or similar
- A positive and dynamic working attitude
- Hands on experience of concrete based works, reinforced, precast etc.
- An ability to listen and communicate with both management, clients and subcontractors
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Excellent IT skills
- Good commercial understanding and an eye for new business
