Building construction around the Auckland region is increasing and this specialist subcontractor is seeing significant growth in their business.  Working closely with a number of tier one contractors and government agencies they are anticipating increasing their monthly workload by 50% by the second half of this year. As such they are now looking for experienced professionals to join the team in order to keep up with that growth.

Specialising in concrete foundations and in-situ concrete walls are working with some of the regions biggest residential and commercial builders on a variety of builds. Originally foundations were the biggest part of the business but due to changes in the market the in-situ construction now leads the way. This change of focus means they now need a strong Construction Manager to lead the project team to ensure that contractual and commercial responsibilities are met and that the company continues to deliver.

As the ideal candidate you will have experience in a managerial role with a tier 1 or tier 2 building contractor and be familiar with the construction processes using in-situ walls. You will have a good understanding of contractual and commercial practices and be able to liaise closely with lead contractors on these matters. As the company grows you will be responsible for updating systems and processes so that everyone is working efficiently and are on the same page. There will be a need for time on site with the construction crews but you will be working across the business and so will be spending time with the commercial and planning teams as well regular contact with clients regarding on-going and upcoming work.

This is a close knit team within a great working environment so if you’re over the constant stress of working with a lead contractor then this could be an ideal role for you. Other key attributes for the role include,

  • 10 to 15 years’ experience in concrete construction with a tier 1 or 2 contractor
  • Excellent commercial and contractual understanding
  • A proven track record of successful project delivery
  • Great relationship skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • A desire to be part of a successful and growing business
