My client is a leading building contractor working around the country in a variety of sectors such as education, infrastructure, residential apartments, civic, healthcare and commercial. They are now looking for a Design Manager to work on a $100m project they’ve just secured in Auckland. This role is specifically tied to this project but is also part of the bigger plan to boost their expertise in this space as part of the business’ continued growth. Your role is to manage the design process working closely with the internal construction team, consultants and clients, following the project through to completion and then final hand over. Although your initial focus will be on this project you will also work with the wider business, bidding for, and securing future work.
As a Design Manager you will have a minimum of 8 years’ experience with a leading building contractor working on a variety of vertical build projects with values of £10million and above. Your experience could come from different types of builds such as education, high rise, stadia, and infrastructure etc.; experience that will fit in well with this contractors varied portfolio. You will be proficient with all the appropriate design tools and with BIM use growing in New Zealand any further experience in this space will be a real winner for the team!
