The civil and infrastructure season is getting busier in New Zealand and this leading civil contractor is due to start a major project civil in Auckland in the first quarter of 2020. As a company they have completed some of the most ingenious and complicated heavy civil and infrastructure projects around. This upcoming project is one of the biggest in New Zealand and as such a hugely important one for the company and a great addition to any engineers bank of experience.
Their current requirement is for a number of Project Engineers to work on the structural component of the project. As a Project Engineer you will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the industry with a civil contractor, with at least two years in a Project Engineer position. Your broader civil and infrastructure experience will be beneficial but it is essential that the bulk of your focus has been on civil structures including bridges, foundations, piling, retaining walls to name but a few. In your role as Project Engineer you will be comfortable managing a package or section of work that includes health & safety, ongoing site management and subcontractor management whilst at the same time running a team of junior engineers. Other desirable attributes include,
- A degree or equivalent industry qualification
- Excellent man management skills
- Great communication and IT skills
- A sense of humour and a desire to do a great job
