Construction is booming in Wellington with projects currently underway and a significant amount just around the corner. As such leadership is crucial to the success of this work and this contractor is looking for just such a leader to head up one of its major projects.
As Project Manager you will be running the construction process whilst regularly liaising with the main stakeholders including clients, designers and subcontractors. Your background will be from the commercial construction sector and you will have experience of projects with values of over $50m either as a PM or a Senior PM. Experience in education, apartments and high rise construction will be of particular use with this company and that experience will ideally be from a tier one contractor. As well as great project management experience you will also have extensive contractual and commercial understanding.
This leadership role will require someone with a strong will and a positive attitude so a track record of delivering projects on time and to budget is essential. The company already boasts PM’s from trade and degree backgrounds and so is open to applicants from either for this role. This is a contractor that likes to grow from within when it can so if you have aspirations of being a Senior PM or Project Director in the future then this company can offer that progression. Requirements include;
- A degree or equivalent trade qualification in construction
- 10 years’ experience in the construction sector
- Excellent commercial and contractual understanding
- A proven track record of successful project delivery
- A desire to be successful
