Senior Civil Quantity Surveyor – Auckland
Auckland is New Zealand’s biggest city and the amount of civil and infrastructure work taking place is a reflection of that. With the recent announcement of another $28 billion to be spent on infrastructure in the city over the next 10 years, civil contractors are only getting busier. In order to keep up with the demands of such a workload is essential that the commercial team is working in unison with the construction team. Due to this increasing work this major civil contractor is now looking for a senior civil quantity surveyor to join their team in Auckland.
As a senior quantity surveyor you will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience working in the civil and infrastructure sector, ideally for a civil contractor. In an ideal world your experience will cover all manner of civil disciplines as the work ahead will include rail, road, water, structures, earthworks and other general civil works. The average project size is around £10 million but values do vary and so experience of between £500,000 and £20 million will fit very nicely with this contractor. Traditionally working as a main contractor or as part of a joint venture, experience of working with subcontractors and joint venture partners would be very beneficial for this team. Other requirements include,
- a degree in quantity surveying or other recognised qualification
- the ability to work independently or as part of a team as required
- a good understanding of the civil and infrastructure sector
- good IT and communication skills
- a desire to be successful in your chosen field
