A leading civil contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex, multi-million-dollar infrastructure projects is expanding its senior leadership team in Auckland. With a significant forward workload and long-term growth strategy across the North Island, we are seeking an experienced Civil Operations Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping the next phase of our success.
This is a key leadership appointment focused on driving performance across Auckland in the immediate term, while positioning the business for sustained North Island growth.
The Opportunity
- As Civil Operations Manager, you will take ownership of the successful delivery of multiple civil and infrastructure projects, working closely with Project Managers and site teams to ensure excellence in execution, safety, commercial outcomes, and client satisfaction.
- You will provide strong leadership, mentoring, and operational oversight—building capability across the team while embedding best-practice systems, procedures, and performance standards.
- Beyond project delivery, this role offers the opportunity to contribute strategically to business growth, strengthening relationships and identifying new opportunities across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the successful delivery of multiple complex, multi-million-dollar civil projects
- Partner closely with Project Managers and site leadership teams to drive programme, quality, and commercial performance
- Mentor and develop emerging leaders within the business
- Champion best practice, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
- Strengthen procedures and processes to improve efficiency and project outcomes
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and key stakeholders
- Identify and develop new business opportunities to support long-term North Island growth
About You
- 15+ years’ experience within the civil and infrastructure sector
- Proven track record delivering large-scale, complex projects
- Strong commercial acumen and operational leadership capability
- Experienced in managing multiple project teams simultaneously
- Natural leader with a collaborative, mentoring style
- Well-connected within the Auckland and/or wider North Island civil market
- Strategic thinker with the ability to balance immediate delivery and long-term growth
