Are you an experienced Digital Engineering Technician looking to work on one of New Zealand’s significant civil infrastructure projects? My client is a leading civil contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex and high-profile infrastructure projects across New Zealand. Due to continued growth and project demand, they are seeking a talented Digital Engineering Technician to join their project team based in Lower Hutt. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the digital delivery of a major civil construction project while working alongside some of the industry’s most experienced professionals.

About the Role

As the Digital Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for supporting project delivery through accurate digital modelling, machine control data preparation, survey integration, and construction support. You will work closely with project engineers, surveyors, and site teams to ensure digital engineering processes are driving efficiency and accuracy across the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain digital engineering models and project data.
  • Prepare and manage machine control files and digital construction information.
  • Utilise 12d software for modelling, design modifications, and construction support.
  • Support survey and field operations through digital workflows.
  • Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Assist with project planning, quantity calculations, and reporting.
  • Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement of digital engineering practices.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Proven experience as a Digital Engineering Technician within civil infrastructure or construction projects.
  • A working knowledge and practical experience using 12d Model (12D) software.
  • Experience supporting earthworks, roads, structures, water, or major civil projects.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Surveying, Digital Engineering, Construction Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes.
  • The ability to work effectively within a collaborative project environment.
