My client is a leading national civil contractor with an exciting pipeline of major projects and a growing presence in the Wellington region. As the business continues to expand, they are looking for an experienced and highly capable Senior Civil Project Manager to join their team. This is an opportunity for an established civil construction professional to take on a senior leadership role with a business that offers long-term career progression, challenging projects and the opportunity to make a genuine impact.
As Senior Civil Project Manager, you will take responsibility for delivering complex and high-value civil projects across the Wellington region. You will provide strong leadership across project teams while maintaining a sharp focus on safety, programme, quality, commercial performance and client relationships. Your experience may span areas such as:
- Water and wastewater infrastructure
- Large-scale pipelines
- Civil structures
- Marine and coastal construction
- Earthworks and other heavy civil projects
- Complex infrastructure and enabling works
You will be equally comfortable working at a strategic level and getting into the detail when required. Technically strong and commercially astute, you will be a natural problem solver who takes ownership and gets things done. You will be an experienced civil construction professional with:
- 15+ years’ experience working for a civil contractor
- A relevant degree or industry-related qualification
- Proven experience managing major and complex civil construction projects
- Strong technical understanding of civil construction methodologies and delivery
- Excellent commercial acumen and contract management capability
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to build high-performing teams
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A genuine focus on business development and building long-term client and industry relationships
- The confidence and capability to operate at a senior level within a growing organisation
