We’re looking for an experienced Surfacing Foreman to join a leading civil and infrastructure contractor based in Christchurch, delivering a range of surfacing projects throughout Canterbury and the wider region. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the tools, leading from the front, and getting the best out of a crew — while working for a well-established contractor with a strong pipeline of work.
As Surfacing Foreman, you’ll be responsible for helping deliver a variety of asphalt and surfacing projects, coordinating crews, plant and materials, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. We’re ideally looking for someone who has previous experience running surfacing crews, but we’re also open to experienced surfacing operators who are ready to step up into their first formal Foreman position.
You’ll need to be practical, organised and confident working with crews, subcontractors and site teams. What we’re looking for,
- Experience in road surfacing / asphalt / civil construction
- Previous experience leading or supervising crews is ideal
- Strong understanding of site safety and quality requirements
- Ability to organise people, plant and materials
- Good communication and leadership skills
- A practical, hands-on approach
- Someone looking to develop their career and take on greater responsibility
