Phil Ponder

I started my career as a PE Teacher but after 8 years I needed a more challenging environment to direct his energies. Working with a multi-national recruitment company in the UK gave me great exposure to the industry and a desire to make recruitment my chosen profession.

Since 2005 I’ve worked within the Civil Construction sector, focusing mainly on contracting companies throughout New Zealand, and on starting Catalyst I broadened that focus to include Construction Contractors, PQS, and Project Management companies.

I’ve built my recruitment practice around a few simple philosophies; honesty, trust, and hard work. It is thanks to these that I continue to work closely with decision-makers within these sectors who know they are getting a truly professional service in line with their expectations.

Outside of work I’m happily married to Bron and we have two energetic young girls. A young family keeps me busy enough but beyond that, I love the beach, enjoy socialising around the barbeque, and watching as much sport and old movies as time will allow!
