Are you a proactive communicator who knows how to keep people informed, engaged, and onside? Our client, a respected leader in the civil construction industry, is looking for an experienced Stakeholder Liaison Coordinator to become the vital link between their project teams and the public, councils, clients, and wider stakeholder groups.
About the Role
Based in Christchurch, you’ll work closely with project teams across Canterbury, the South Island, and parts of Wellington, ensuring that all stakeholders receive clear, accurate, and timely project information. Your mission: build trust, anticipate concerns, manage expectations, and stay one step ahead of emerging issues.
This is a key role within a high-performing organisation—ideal for someone who thrives on communication, coordination, and creating positive relationships in a fast-moving environment.
The role includes
- Acting as the central point of contact between the contractor and all external stakeholders
- Preparing and delivering regular project updates, notifications, and engagement materials
- Supporting project teams to identify and respond to risks before they escalate
- Building strong, lasting relationships with councils, communities, clients, and public groups
- Planning and implementing proactive engagement strategies to ensure smooth project delivery
This is a key role within a growing organisation and we’re looking for someone with drive and a real can-do attitude. Other desirable experience includes
- Previous experience in stakeholder engagement, community liaison, communications, or a similar field
- Infrastructure or civil industry exposure is an advantage, but not essential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills—able to connect with people at all levels
- Naturally proactive, organised, and able to stay ahead of potential issues
- Comfortable working across multiple projects and locations
- Good IT skills including marketing and social media experience
The successful candidate will secure an excellent salary as part of a highly attractive package and the opportunity to join a respected, well-established civil contractor in a role with real influence and visibility across major regional projects. If you’re ready to bring your stakeholder expertise to a company that values initiative, professionalism, and relationship-building, we’d love to hear from you in preparation for a New Year start.
