An outstanding opportunity is available for an experienced Civil Project Manager to join a leading infrastructure contractor delivering major projects across the Auckland region. Backed by a strong international parent company, this organisation has secured a long-term pipeline of work spanning complex civil infrastructure, structures, and three waters projects.
This role is suited to a proven construction leader who can successfully deliver technically challenging projects while driving safety, programme, commercial performance, and team culture.
About the Role
You will take ownership of significant heavy civil projects from planning through to delivery, leading multidisciplinary site teams and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
Projects include:
- Major three waters infrastructure
- Structures and bridge works
- Deep drainage and utilities
- Roading and civil infrastructure
- Complex urban civil construction
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the successful delivery of civil infrastructure projects across Auckland
- Manage programme, cost, quality, and resource allocation
- Drive strong health & safety culture and compliance on site
- Lead and mentor project teams, engineers, and supervisors
- Manage client relationships and stakeholder engagement
- Oversee procurement and subcontractor management
- Ensure contractual obligations and commercial targets are achieved
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Deliver projects efficiently while maintaining high standard
To e successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in heavy civil construction
- Proven delivery experience across structures and three waters projects
- Strong leadership and team management capability
- Excellent commercial acumen and contract management skills
- Demonstrated understanding of NZS3910 or equivalent contracts
- Strong H&S leadership and commitment to safe delivery
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and project priorities
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred
