Lead the Delivery of Some of New Zealand’s Largest Civil and Energy Projects
A number of outstanding opportunities have arisen for experienced Civil Construction Managers to join one of New Zealand’s leading civil contractors, delivering some of the country’s most significant infrastructure and energy projects. With multiple major projects underway and a strong pipeline of future work, we are seeking exceptional construction leaders to take ownership of projects valued at NZ$100M+ (approximately GBP50M+) across a range of sectors including heavy civil infrastructure, renewable energy, transport, water, and major earthworks.
Whether your background is in highways, bridges, marine, water infrastructure, dams, or energy, we are interested in speaking with proven construction professionals who have successfully delivered major projects. As Construction Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of large-scale civil projects from mobilisation through to completion. You will lead multidisciplinary delivery teams, oversee both self-performed works and specialist subcontractors, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget while maintaining exceptional client relationships.

Responsibilities include
- Lead the construction delivery of major infrastructure projects valued at NZ$100M+
- Manage large self-delivery construction teams alongside multiple subcontractors
- Drive programme, productivity, cost control and quality outcomes
- Deliver projects safely while maintaining industry-leading HSEQ standards
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and project partners
- Manage key stakeholders including government agencies, local authorities, iwi, utilities and the wider community
- Identify and manage project risks and opportunities
- Mentor and develop high-performing site leadership teams
- Ensure contractual obligations and commercial objectives are achieved
You will be an experienced Construction Manager with a proven record of successfully delivering major civil infrastructure projects.
You will demonstrate,
- Extensive experience delivering large-scale civil infrastructure projects valued at GBP50M+ (NZ$100M+)
- A good range of civil experience with earthworks experience as a bonus!
- Strong background managing both self-performed works and subcontractor delivery
- A consistent track record of completing projects safely, on time and within budget
- Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate large site teams
- Strong commercial awareness and construction planning capability
- Outstanding stakeholder management skills with experience engaging clients, government agencies, local authorities and the public
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
