As Design Manager, you will oversee the design process from concept through to project completion, ensuring that quality, programme, budget, and buildability objectives are achieved. Working closely with the Project Director, construction team, consultants, and client, you will foster collaboration across all stakeholders to deliver outstanding project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage the design process for a large-scale Design & Build commercial project.
- Ensure design deliverables align with programme, budget, and construction requirements.
- Identify and manage design risks while driving innovative and practical solutions.
- Facilitate effective communication between consultants, subcontractors, clients, and the project delivery team.
- Promote value engineering and best-practice construction methodologies.
- Review and manage design documentation to ensure quality, compliance, and constructability.
- Provide technical support to procurement and construction teams.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships and provide regular project reporting.
You will be an experienced Design Manager with a successful track record of delivering complex commercial construction projects. Essential Requirements include,
- Proven experience managing the design of commercial construction projects valued at $50 million and above.
- Strong Design & Build project experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate large multidisciplinary consultant teams.
- Excellent understanding of commercial construction methodologies and project delivery.
- Strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness, and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
